I have a combo DVD/VCR made by GoldStar that is missing the original remote. i also have what i believe to an RCA RCU410W universal remote control that now lacks the code booklet that came w/ it. i went to remotefinder.rca.com and GoldStar wasn't one of the listed brands, does this mean there is no way for me to use the remote i currently have w/ the player? advice? thank you.

My Matsui universa remote control has the following codes for Goldstar dvd players: 0614, 0764.
and the following for Goldstar video 0060, 1260, 0503, 0023. I don't know if they will work on your brand of universal remote but its worth a try.
