All units are different but you'll insert the disc to be finalized,
go into your disc menu, edit disc and you should see a finalize disc.
The disc will finalize (this usually takes a few minutes).
You will no longer be able to record on this disc so make sure you are finished with it!
If the disc is not finalized, you will not be able to play it in any DVD player other than the one you recorded it in!

Finalizing problem
I don't see the option to finalize when I go to edit disc. I finally figured it out with the manual last yr., but I forgot how I did it. And I can't find my manual.
