To update, download the newest firmware for your model. Put it in the ROOT directory of a FAT formated USB flash stick (I know the instructions say put it in the Upgrade folder, but ROOT works). Turn on the TV, and navigate to the UPGRADE SOFTWARE selection in the menu. Insert the USB stick and watch it upgrade.

Note some people seem to have said, in those search results, that the updated software was worse than the original. So you might want to read those first before you try to update.
