I am currently in Iraq with the Army and have an issue with our GOBOOK
It will not detect a hard drive when I boot it up.
It has worked fine for a while. It crashed and we reinstalled the OS.
We got it to partially reinstall the OS and then it quit about 8 percent of the way through. Now it will not detect any hard drive we put in it.
Just before it quit at 8 percent I briefly glimpsed a BSOD before it crashed again.
I have tried changing ram modules.
Are you replacing the hard drive or just slipping in another drive in caddie from another machine there is a screw that holds the caddie in place if not replaced it will not get good connection sometimes if u are replacing just the drive u could have a bad caddie the caddies without hard drives are almost impossible to find here in the states and there is a shortage itronix only sells one with a drive at a big expense i use a gb 2 ix 260 running no hard drive using an ubuntu live disk wks great maybe an option for that machine also you have lan boot in bios as well hope this info helps u might also try yahoo groups itronixgobook for more help
You'll need to replace the hard drive. Basically, if the hard drive is not being detected in BIOS, that means that there is something wrong with the hard drive's onboard logic board.
Don't spend any more time on it until the HDD is repalced.

Thank you. I should have stated I have tried multiple hard drives.I also have tried removing the cmos battery and of course the laptop battery and power cable.
The hard drive gets no power.
On another attempt it may work fine. It worked fine for 2 days once then Bam. Crashed out. After a couple of days it let me re install the OS then just as suddenly quit detecting the new hard drive again. I have tried 4 hard drives (and checked them all before trying them) and this thing just keeps acting up.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
