I have an Akai 50" plasma HDTV Monitor Model PDP5073TM and have been unabe to get the TV to work using my cable (Cox) supplied remote. Using the Akai codes provided by Cox (0030, 0672, 0702, 0812) don't work. Cox says maybe Akai needs to provide new codes. Even tried to use the "learning " function with the cable remote and that didn't work with the Akai either. Sent an email to Akai requesting clarification of correct code for this TV with no answer to date. Is there possibly another code I could try. or should I spring for a new universal remote (e.g., Harmony) And how do I know the new one will work with the Akai?
GE Universal remote only $12.00 at Target works on my Akai LCD HDTV, this remote also has learning capability but the third code under Akai worked!!!
