My problem is that when I use the HDMI input jack on my Sharp Aquos to view DVDs and also my digital movie from my HD camera, the screen shows a weird color resolution where its purple & pink. Also the dimensions cut off most of the screen. The DVD player & camera work fine when I use the normal AV input. Please tell me if the TV is broken or some setting with the input.

Hi,
It sounds HDMI port is not working properly, there is no adjustement available for HDMI input because it gets video signal as well as control signal and adjust itself automatically. Works similar like USB port in computer, Windows recognize plugged thing and act accordingly.
In my opinion, you might need main board replacement so let me know exact model number of your Sharp TV to find out required board for you.
Question post shows its Sharp LC-32G4U lcd tv, please confirm it.
Thanks.

Hi, There could be quite a few reasons and usually takes a ton of troubleshooting to figure it out. Unfortunately this is a fairly common problem with the way technology moves issue's like these are becoming even more common. Go through the settings on the dvd player. Also how long is your hdmi cable? There are a lot of factors. Basically just go setting by setting and try and change things. Even aspect ratio and resolution can effect it. If you need further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
Lee
