A pairing code is simply a code you put in or type in the main device like a cell phone that you should also type or put in to the other deice or phone.
Example, you want to pair via bluetooth a cellphone and a laptop. When you attempted to pair your laptop to the phone, you will be prompted for a code in your laptop: you enter 1. And then you will be prompted for a code in your phone and just enter 1, the same with what you first entered in the first device. It is not a fixed number or code like a password.
