I am trying to restore Windows wiht the recovery disc. and I get an error message that says there is no hard drive? How could this be? maybe something inside came unconnected? Any suggestions

The first question is why were you trying to restore Windows? What was the problem? The actual problem may have been a failing of the HDD to begin with. The message that there is no HDD is just that, either a interface connection has come loose from the drive or that the drive has finally failed. If you get another HDD, make sure that you run the included software with it to make sure that the new drive is "Initialized". Then you can load windows and start the load up process again.
