When I change network security from my wired vista computer, the wireless xp laptop gets knocked off the network. How to get around this?
If you change any security setting it likely has to reboot.
if the wireless won't reconnect , start with no security setting for open/no security and see how it responds.
then match the settings exact.
otherwise update the bios in the router.

I fixed the problem by entering the network key (26 hexadecimal characters) for my home network in the "wireless network connection settings" on the Laptop WLAN card utility.
