If the outside bezel glass is broken you should replace the TV. If the Plasma pane inside is broken they do have techs. that can repair that. It is not too expensive, but can be a lengthy wait to get your TV back.
Hi. Scrap the unit, the price for the screen is more then the tv is worth.

If the screen is broken then yes, it will and can make odd noises. Your cost on replacing a plasma screen will go beyond just purchasing a replacement television.
