Actually, ultimatum, this particular model does play both music and video files, though the latter must be in AMV format. The mp3 player should have come with a CD containing the conversion software you will need. If not, try googling 'WMV (or whatever filetype your videos are) to AMV converter'.
I do not think it is possible to transfer videos directly from YouTube to your player, but there is software out there that will let you "record" videos online and save them to your computer. These files can, in turn, be converted and transferred to the device via the included software.
The MP3 has the internal firmware corrupted. Sorry but at the time, if the MP3 has less than two years, there isn't any solution for your player, it is internally working but if it can't load the firmware it wouldn't boot up.
