My Clypso washer will not turn on i keep getting an erro message of FL! help
My FL code was flashing. So I took the drain hose out of the vent pipe and laid it on the floor. (Luckily my washer is in the basement) The water poured out and so did a penny. I'm crossing my fingers, because there were 2 pennies sitting on the washer ... So far it is working great. I have had this set since they first came out and have only had one other problem with it & that was after company kept changing their mind DURING the wash cycle & resetting it.
I've had this issue three times. On the first case, I found my external drain hose ( the hose from your washing machine to the drain in your wall) was clogged with a penny. The original external drain hose has a valve that keeps water from coming back into the washing machine. The penny had lodged in the vlave. On the second occassion, a piece of a hankerchief was caught in the drain pump. This pump has a "propeller" that pulls the water out of the washing machine and pushes it out to the external drain hose. I took it off the drain pump motor and tried to clean it. The original pump is solid and you can't take it apart to clean it. I did the best I could, then put it back on. It made a loud noise when draining. Whirlpool no longer sales just the drain pump, you have to buy a complete new pump and motor combo. It costs about $70 on e-bay (new). It is fairly easy to install (30 min). The good thing about the new pump is that you can take the cover of the pump off without taking the pump motor off. The third time I took the pumpef cover off and found a penny lodged in the pump. After taking it out, the machine ran well.
Note 1: A good way to drain your washing machine is to take a hose pipe and put it in the top of the machine and then use a manual air mattress pump (in reverse mode) on the opposite end of the hose that you put outside. After several pumps on the air mattress pump sucking the water through the hose, you will create a suction that will keep flowing until much of the water is out of your tub. Be ready with several containers to catch the rest of the water when you take the hoses off the pump.
Note 2: Check pockets well to keep things from getting into the drain system. Use a delicate wash bag (a mesh bag) to wash undergarmets, hose, hankerchiefs, and other thin items that might get sucked into the drain system.
