My kitchenaid toaster oven kco253 function control knob will not turn. The other knobs do, but no power light comes on

It sounds like there may be an issue with the function control knob on your KitchenAid toaster oven. If the knob will not turn and no power light comes on, it could indicate a problem with the knob itself, or a more serious issue with the oven's internal electrical components.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the knob for any physical damage or debris that may be preventing it from turning. Clean the knob and the surrounding area if necessary.
  2. Check the electrical connections for the knob. Make sure that the connections are securely in place and that there is no damage or corrosion.
  3. Check the power outlet. Make sure that the outlet is working properly and that there is no issue with the circuit breaker or fuse.
  4. If the above steps don't solve the problem, it could indicate a more serious issue with the oven's internal electrical components. It's recommended to contact the KitchenAid customer service or a professional technician for further assistance.
It's also important to check the oven's warranty status and the manufacturer's instructions to ensure that the repair or replacement will not void the warranty.
Keep in mind that troubleshooting and repairing electrical appliances can be dangerous if you are not familiar with the proper procedures. If you are not comfortable with performing the troubleshooting yourself, it's best to contact a professional technician for assistance.

I have a Brevelle 800 toaster oven that starts, but does not heat up. What part needs replacing?

There is a thermal fuse that breaks power to the heating elements if it gets too hot (somewhere around 173 C. I replaced mine with an identically rated fuse and it was good for a week until I tried to cook twice in succession. I then replaced the fuse with one that trips at around 190C and it's been good for 4 months now. The fuse costs about $6 on ebay (shipping included) and takes about an hour to replace.

Not heating, but light works? How do I fix this problem?

Your oven is obviously getting power if the light is on. If your heating elements are not getting hot you may have had a switch go bad, a wire come off it's terminal, or possibly a fuse that blew if your unit has one. There is really no way to know exactly where the problem is without taking the unit apart and visually inspecting it. If all the connections and switches look good, some electrical diagnosing is needed to see where the problem is. If you find any wires or switches that have any melted or burned plastic, you will need to repair the connection or replace the switch. If there is no obvious problem, you should have it looked at by a technician who can properly diagnose the unit.

Power light out and doesn't heat

Ticking sound when unplugged? It sounds like a mechanical timer. Check the timer / control setting is actually on a cooking cycle. The unit may be set on delayed start? If there is no power to the unit, there may be a fuse inside it. You may have to take the back / side off to see.

Toaster Oven Unresponsive (Farberware Model# FT032055

I would check the cord or the plug before anything else. Plug another appliance into the outlet if it works try bending the male plugs on the cord slightly and try again. If this doesnt work call the man.
