Use the Rec function (shift of the - key).

Rec(r,t) converts a polar value of magnitude r and angle t in the current angular mode. The real value is assigned to X and the imaginary value is assigned to Y.

Use the Pol function (shift of the + key) for the reverse.

It's on page E-37 of the manual. If you've misplaced your manual, you can download a new one from http://www.casio.com/support/manuals

    First set casio fx115es to complex mode, which is done by clicking on mode then #2. 2nd, make sure you casio is set to Degree not Radian or anything else. Do this by clicking Shift then mode then click #3.

    So, if you have a rectangular problem like this: 3.866+j1.013 --- and you want to turn that Rectangular to polar, you would hit Shift then + key (POL - for polar). Then type in 3.866 then hit shift comma, which is the closed paranthesis then type in 1.013 then close the paranthesis. So, on your Calc screen it would look like this

    Pol ( 3.866, 1.013)

    answer would look like this:
    r = 3.99673
    0 = 14.6952

    The zero above represents Theta. Hope this helps.
