Had a low voltage problem in the home. Main powerline at pole had one line broken almost all the way through, lights were dim, clothes dryer would not start, micro wouldn't heat, other stuff. After we got that fixed, the computer started to just shut off randomly and just kept getting worse. would that have fried the mother board oris there something else I should look at?

I would recommend checking the power supply first but it is possible the board may have gone as well.

Due to low voltage, the power supply of your computer has gone bad. It has happened due to heating of internal parts(like capacitors inside the power supply unit). I'll suggest you to buy a new power supply for your desktop as replacing power supply's internal parts is a tedious job and is not recommended.

You can buy new power supply for your desktop by checking the power rating(input power/output power/etc) of the power supply.
