I have imported a CD to iTunes (a compilation album "American Anthems" - Various Artists) but instead of recognising the tracks as being a part of one album it has split them into their own individual albums with the same album name that they are from originally. The result of this means not one CD with 50 songs but iTunes creating 50 albums of the same name with only one song to each of them. My question is does how can i change this in order to make them back into the one original album that I imported in the first place?

You need to modify the information on each of those songs.
To do that, you need to open iTunes and go to your music library.
Select one of the songs that you want to modify and right-click on it.
Select Get Info.
Select Info tab (second among the tabs on top)
And type in the name of the album on the box under Album.
And click OK to save changes.
You can also Next or Previous if you see that the next/previous song belong to that album. That way you don't need to select and right-click on the next/previous song. It will automatically open the info of that song.
