Write protect error MSG

Was taking some pics today on my Olympus e410 when it suddenly stopped and MSG on my screen saying write protect. I now can't even access the 300+ photos I have taken. Have tried to look up what this means but can only find answers to do with a switch, but my CF card has no switch! Please help ...

Check your camera for broken or bent pins for the CF card.
CF connectors biggest problem are broken or bent pins.
In that case your camera will need repairs. Try substituting a different CF care and see the you get the same problem.

Please format the CF card in your computer with an external cardreader on full format and probly your card is working on an Olympus E410

On the side of the card is a little clip just slice it up

SOURCE: Olympus E410 viewfinder problem

As far as I am aware, you can use the viewfinder OR the live view, but not both at the same time.

This is because a mirror has to flip up out of the way to reveal the sensor for the live view to work, and the mirror needs to be in the down position to reflect the image into the viewfinder.

Switch between the two modes and double-check if there is a problem.

Also try removing the lens from the camera and checking the position of the mirror. It could be that it has got stuck in the up osition.
