I just bought it and the initial setup did not come up and i cant recoard any tips ? how do i reset my drc8320n
I feel you pain. My wife bought me this unit about two years ago and I wanted to transfer some VHS tapes to DVD but there was no rush to do this and besides I had another VCR and a VCR/DVD combo unit. I finally opened the box the other day and proceeded to hook everything up and I had exactly the same problem. The unit says "HELLO" on the screen but will not advance to "PLS WAIT" or "INITIAL." So essentially, the unit is dead since without doing the initial setup none of the buttons on the front of the unit or the remote function. I e-mailed RCA and received a response that stated, "Audiovox acquired RCA as of January 1, 2008. The transfer of parts and information is still in process. However we did not acquire this portion of RCA so we do not handle this product i'm sorry for the inconvenience." So in other words and according to what I've read on the internet about this unit it's a total pice of junk and you can't get any technical assistance about this problem or replacement parts. The only thing one person told me was to hold down the power button on the left side of the unit for 30 seconds and then unplug the unit and wait a few minutes and then plug it back in to see if it resets to the factory default. Guess what, it didn't so I've totally wasted $200.
Almost the same thing happened with mine. I didn't use it much when I first got it, and now that I want to use it there is tech problems that RCA won't even hear about. When I turn it on I get the hello screen and pls wait, then the DVD starts loading with no DVD in it, and just keeps loading. Can't use the VCR when the DVD is in operation. What a waste of money this crappy machine was. I will never buy another thing with made by RCA, and never buy at Walmart, they won't help at all to back up what they sell. After 30 days you are sh** out of luck.
