Won't turn on

I got a new Kodak Easyshare M753 and it will not turn on or charge the screen is blank and there is no light. I've tried it on another computer and still nothing? It dosen't look to be damaged in any way.

I have the EXACT same problem. My computer doesn't detect it. It won't turn on or charge. I don't have a memory card, but I do have the battery. I don't want to have to go out and buy a seperate charger, because in the manual it said it's possible that it can be charged via computer. Nice to see that I'm not the only one with this problem though.

I have the Kodak M753. the battery died and now i cant get it to charge. i have tried the USB wire it came with a replacement, a wall charger suggested by the salesman, and even bought a docking station. nothing will work. after a while of it being plugged in the camera starts to feel warm. i bought a replacement batter and it turned on for a second but died because it needed to be charged. Any one know why this is happening and how to fix the problem? Thanks!

Disclaimer - No guarantee this will work for you. No responsibility if this spoils your battery/camera or causes any damage to you or your tools or equipments :)

I had the same problem. I checked the battery with a multimeter (voltmeter) and found that the battery was completely dry. I thought the battery was dead. The current was not even sufficient to light an LED. Before throwing away, as a last resort, I charged it with a third party charger for about five minutes. (Find a charger/eliminator of 3.7 V, keep the positive line to the positive of the Li-Ion battery and negative to negative pressed. Do not try this with non-rechargeable battery at all. The battery may explode or cause damage to your charger). Placed the battery back in the camera and connected the USB. Alas! the green indicator lighted up indicating that the battery is being charged.

Moral of the story - Never leave the battery to completely dry out. Keep charging frequently.

All the best!
Bobby.

SOURCE: camera wont turn on

Clean battery contacts. Use "small" flat had screw driver, and pry up "GENTLY" on battery contacts. Replace battery. Hit a few times with knuckle "NOT HARD" next to lens. Turn camera on. Camera will work forever.
