There isn't one. If you're entering a complex number in rectangular form, separate the real and imaginary parts with a comma (left of the 4). If you're entering a complex number in polar form, separate the magnitude and the angle with the angle symbol (2nd comma).

How do I reset my TI-86 after a long period of no use.

Every time you change batteries this will happen to you. First press 2nd then press and hold the down arrow. Hold until their is no black in the background but you can still see the numbers on the screen.

I have a ti3 and ti 86 but not got intructions for ti86 and was considering getting ti92 but not sure if the ti 92 is any better than what i have

That depends on what you need to do with the calculator. The TI-83 is better at some things, the TI-86 is better at some other things, and the TI-92 is better at yet other things.
The 83 and the 86 both use the Z80 processor, though the 86 is quite a bit faster. The 92 uses a 68000 processor. Though the 83 has a faster processor than the 86, the 86 has some additional calculus capabilities.

What is the different between ti-86 and ti-83

The 86 has more memory. It also has some advanced calculus capabilities the 83 doesn't. However you're much more likely to see examples for the 83 in textbooks and other references.

Send program from one TI-86 to another TI-86

First, connect the two calculators with the unit-to-unit cable.

Prepare the receiving calculator: press 2ND [LINK] F2.

Select the item to send on the sending calculator: press 2ND [LINK] F1 F2. For each program you want to send, navigate to it using the up/down arrows and press F2. Press F1 to send.

How to get exponents on an ti-86

Press the ^ button. For example 2 raised to the 4th power would be 2^4. I hope this helps you out.

A friend gave me a TI-86 graphing Calc. I wont turn on!!!

maybe try changing the small memory battery inside, I think its a cr1616 or cr1620. If this doesn't work use it as a paperweight.

Use the TIconnect or TIGraphlink software to reinstall the programs. You will find the programs in the TI Program archives.

How to open (remove) TI-86 Keyboard

There are screws on the back. unscrew those carefully and then pull the two sides apart and start cleaning. GOOD LUCK
