FORMAT FOR IF FUNCTION FOR ENTERING A class OF STUDENTS ie whether they have secured distinction,first class ,second class,fail and have to print this

I'm not sure what you mean exactly...

Do you want to sort an existing excel worksheet?
Or do you want to change a cell value depending on the class of students.
You can use if for the latter.
Otherwise just use sorting in excel.

Please explain what you want to do exactly...
