I have insterted the software disk, but when I attempt to install I get a message that says "a newer scanner driver has already been installed" and it will not install the software. Do I need to find and uninstall the "newer driver"? How?
Did you connect the scanner to your computer before loading the CD? There is an updated driver available from Canon that your operating system may have found and already installed. Try loading your CD again and this time select "Custom Install" instead of "Easy Install." After selecting Custom Install, the next screen will show all of the programs that will be installed. De-select the ScanGear box so that this software doesn't try to install as it is the updated one that is already on your computer most likely. Click install and the install should proceed this time.
