Hi,

1. You have to go to the BIOS (press F1, F2, F10 or delete key)
2.Search for Boot Order
3.Set DVD or CD as a first boot item
4. Save changes on BIOS
5. Reboot
6.You'll see an option to boot from CD or DVD (tap any key)

Laptop wont boot

You have to get to the BIOS and get your USB or a USB drive to boot first. otherwise you have to pull the drive and get at your data. most computers have a hot key during the boot process to get to the bios ( before your error will come up . look for that ... Then you can get to a recovery program on your USB or DVD. I use puppy linux to get to copy all my data FIRST. then go from there.

I have a HP DV2000 Laptop. The DVD Drive of Laptop is not working. When I tried to boot from External DVD Drive it wont work, while it shown in booting also checked in BIOS but still not worked.

You can only boot from External DVD if the BIOS has Boot from USB selected as the first option and you have a bootable CD/DVD for example a Recovery DVD.

I am assuming your hard drive is not working.

Can not boot dell 6650 from external dvd

Have you checked boot device options....from BIOS
Use F9 during boot to goto ROM-BIOS and change Boot device option to CDROM/DVDROM.
Insert Boot media or DVD-Win2003, to DVD-ROM device..
reboot Server, try now
If still issue.. Check to boot Server using some other media..
if other cd media works, then it could be DVD-Win2003 faulty, otherwise download firmware for CD/DVDROM and upgrade it and check if DVDROM works, otherwise you have to contact Dell Support..

Won't boot from DVD? set it up in BIOS to boot

Is the Boot from DVD the first boot option? If yes then it should boot from the DVD unless the DVD has problems reading the disk. in that case either the disk is bad or the DVD. Open the DVD and you will notice a circular light led in the moving part of the tay. Just clean it with a very soft cloth. Also clean the disk instraight lines and not in circles and retry to boot. If the problem persists then try the disk in some other machine. If it works there then the DVD may have a problem. get it checked.

New sata LG dvd room,it work correctly, but i can't boot from it

In your bios change the settings for boot order,

1: DVD Rom
2: n/a
3: n/a
4...
5...
6...

This will force a boot off the only drive available which is the dvd rom.

My Toshiba DVD drive stopped reading CD's

at this point, you can revert back to the stone aged floppy drive to boot up. Try to obtain a boot-able floppy disc that will allow you to boot the pc with cd driver. You can even go back to WIN-ME edition floppy boot disc. I can send along a copy if you like.
