Hi I'm running windows vista home basic and a few weeks ago any game site that I went to came up the the same " java not detected on your computer" message.
I have unistalled and re installed java several times and followed all the tips and advice from the java site to no avail.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Try this. Go to Start, Control Panel. Click on Java. At the bottom of the dialog box where it says Temporary Internet Files click on Settings and delete the temporary files. Restart your browser.
You could also try another browser like FireFox. It may just be a IE permissions issue.

Unfortunately changing browsers has had no effect. Still getting the " java not detected " message.
