On the Y= screen, go to the line containing the function to be plotted. Press left-arrow until the cursor sits on the strange mark. Repeatedly press ENTER to cycle through the different graph styles. The "normal" style is a diagonal line from upper left to lower right.
Not being able to open your memory is a bigger problem than entering the line type in the y editor. Eventhough, I would say k_akima solution for you just to press enter to change to the desired line type is correct. What you should be working on is freeing up memory until you can open up your memory. You can do this by deleting program, varibles, and stop operating the calculator (due to the fact), that your only using up memory that you need to use to free up other memory, or your calculator is eventually going to lock up. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to free up even more additional memory since, your at a point where lock out is occurring. This will also bring back some preformance if your successful. If you really can't open your memory like you say, try clearing out all the equations in the y editor even for the varies graphing modes, and just keep deleting everything you can until you can get things to open to delete them the proper way out of the memory.
