the exact same thing happened to me. i was in london and had low reception and that and i thought if i turned it off then back on it would be better again but now i just vibrates for a second shows the sony ericsson logo then goes black but the buttons keep lighting up and vuvrating but not turning on.
i dont know whats wrong but i think it has something to do with the battery so im going back to the shop i bought it from and ask them about it (lost reciept though :L) i might have to buy a new battery for it (everyone is saying something to do with an alein thin on the battey)

You did not specify the type of phone it is but if it is a nokia phone the default code is 12345
