It should, yes. Blue-Ray is integrated into all lines of the PS3 console, while PS2 compatibility is not. The reason for this is PS3 disks are along the same type of format as Blue-Ray, speaking generally of course. PS2 disks are a different format, and the type of player needed to use them even varies among the PS2 consoles. Some PS2 games can't be played on more then half of the ps2 product lines, it depends on how old the game and console both are.
