There is a reset button on the right side (as you hold it looking at the screen) You need a pin to push it. Be careful, there is a microphone on the exact opposite side that is the exact same size.
i bought my son this same model for christmas and the same exact thing keeps happening and the reset button does not fix it now two days ago we turn it on and the screen resolution is all messed up it looks cracked we have been having nothing but problems with this player I am so upset and will be contacting memorex
