I got a message when loading up FST Connect which said - Can't load IEEE 1394 Driver: ALSDRVR.INF. I tried downloading FST/Connect Update - v1.00 to v1.01 for Mac OS X from the Alesis website but my computer says it cannot be installed on my system (OS X 10.5.8 PPC G5) Could you please help? Assuming you have a new laptop (based on having vista) your laptop is most likely equipped with an express card slot instead of the older standard. Here is a link to illustrate what I am talking about:

Note that it is a different shape than the card you purchased from Best buy. Hope that helped.

Either use the legacy drivers for your 1394 interface or do as I did and just download HD24 Tools program until Alesis makes a device that works on modern operating systems! Don't stay up late waiting for Alesis to do that. Ask yourself when the last firmware upgrade for the HD34 was.
