When you graph a function,where can I find the table??

If the table contains experimental (statistical) data that you gathered and put in a table on the calculator, then I am sorry to say that if table is deleted there is no way to get the data back. You will have to renter it.
However if it is a table connected to a function you graphed then the table can be regenerated: Type in the function anew, press the table function key, then graph it.

Enter the function using the Y= editor. Pressing [ 2nd ][Graph] (table) will display the table. You can then press [GRAPH] to see the grapg. If you want both graph and table side by side use the split screen feature.
To do so press [Mode]. Scroll down to the last line Full Horiz G-T. Highlight the option G-T. Press the Graph key.

If you want the table to be generated, you must use the table feature. You can generate a table also after you draw (graph) a function.
Enter a function in the Y= editor, then press GRAPH or SHIFT GRAPH (TABLE). If you press GRAPH, you will see a graph. If you want the table and are not interested in the graph, press SHIFT TABLE.

Just return to the Y= function editor and type your function again. Press Graph or 2nd GRAPH and you will find your table.

What are you trying to do? You drew a graph, then you cleared the function graphed and went to the table to see if the X values have disappeared and they did not.Right?

By pressing the [SHIFT][(TABLE) key you were in fact commanding the calculator to generate a table for a function but you did not supply (nothing in Y= editor), and the calculator faithfully obeyed you. It looked at the Xmin of the window, looked at the Xscl factor and generated a blank table that contains all the X-Coordinates (where your function or table would have been calculated had you entered a valid expression in the Y= editor). That is how it works.

Yes. To get to the table functions, press the TABLE key. To get to the trace, window, and other graph functions, press the GRAPH key.

Here is a solution.


Graph the function over the domain [-Pi,+Pi]
Then press the [SHIFT][MENU] (SETUP) and in option [Dual Screen] select [G to T] Graph to table. The screen will be spilt in two, but the Table part remains empty.
Press [SHIFT][F1] (TRACE), the cross hair appears on screen.
Move it around on the curve
If you press [EXE] at a cross hair location, the table records the X and Y value. On the following screen capture, the exponential function is graphed along with sin(X) and the table is populated by selected values of the exponential.

This usually happens after the statistical graphs have been used. You should deactivate them. Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT). Select [4:PlotsOff] [ENTER]. Calculator echoes Done on main screen.
Restart your graphs.

Sorry if you already know that, but I want to make sure we understand one another.

Say you want to graph the function Y1=2X+3.
You press [MODE] to make sure that the FUNC on 4th line is highlighted permanently. If it is you press [Y=]

On the first line where it says Y1= you enter 2*[X,T,Theta,n] +3.
The X is accessed with the key to the right of the [ALPHA] key.
As you key in your function, notice that the equal sign after Y1 is highlighted and remains so. When you finish entering the function press [ENTER] so that the cursor moves to the line Y2=. Make sure that the = sign after the Y1 in previous equation remains highlighted.

You can now draw the graph by pressing [GRAPH] or generate the table Y1=f(X) by pressing [2nd][TABLE]. Under no conditions should you enter YOUR own values. If the table does not appear there may be a problem, and you will not solve it by entering values.

Now let us try to get you calculator to work as it should.

Press [2nd][STATPLOT][4:PlotsOff] , the command PlotsOff echoes on main screen. Press [ENTER] to turn statistical plots OFF. Screen displays Done.
Press [2nd][CATALOG] [ENTER]. The list of all avilable command appears. Scroll down till you reach ClrAllLists. Move arrow to the correspondig line and press [ENTER] , command echoes on main screen as ClrAllLists. Press [ENTER] to erase all old statistical lists that may be stored in the calculator memory.

Now you are ready to graph or create the table of values. Press [2nd][Table] and the table should be displayed. All you can do with the values in the table is to look at them, examine them. You cannot modifie nor erase them.

If, for reasons of your own, you think you ought to be allowed to enter YOUR values, in the table, then this is not graphing functions. The name for that is DOING STATISTICS. And the procedure is tottaly different: You enter YOUR values in lists and use the calculator to draw the data points, and to find the best fit (the curve that models the pattern of data distribution best). When you decide which fit is the best, you can use the calculator to extract the equation for the curve and, if you want it, to draw the curve on the same graph where you raw data is represented.
