Your samsung star is based on Java Operating System, so u can install only java themes or games. U can,t install the third party software bcoz java dosn't support it.

Download installer applications in your PC. Connect mobile phone to PC. Copy the file in your phone memory card. Plug off the phone from PC. Open folder where you save the file. Click file > Option > Install

you can download all the software from you mobile makers site . if you go to samsung web site search your phone you will bbe able to download it to your desctop and run it form there to install.
i have solution for that. using software SoftickPPP221 and uploader jad. u can see how it works in youtube. but then for samsung SGH-M610, it needs a java code such as #*5737425#(samsung D500). so all we need is java code to install games and application.
