My Compaq laptop will not connect wirelessly to the Internet all of a sudden. My ISP provider says it has to do with the device manager. When I go to device manager, there is a yield sign under network adapters called 'Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2. How do I fix this to get connected wirelessly?

What a SIMPLE QUESTION. BUT HOPELESS.
no PC stated (HP) not a clue what you own. WOW1.
wow2, NO OS stated at all ,XP the dead OS OR VISTA SAME.
THE FIRST PC WAS 1984,
MAKING ANY HELPER GUESS IS SILLY NOW.
its like asking your doctors whats up, talking on 2 tin cans and a string (or here text only) wow. what a tall order that is. no?

why not ask the real HP what drivers you need for you undstated
OS, and PC
the too will PROBE you(beg) for facts, not one stated by you.
all we know is windows something, wifi dead.'

wifi wireless
so is a 3/4G dongle atteched, or even inside HP laptop like mine has.
so wireless means
why not learn to use ethenet wired, until you learn 3 things.
what PC is there, service tag data.
what OS is there, control panel, hit system ,and read.
what wireless , Wifi""??????
LEARN to say WIFI IF IT IS.

This works. (your drivers are bad,HP has them , ask them yet?)

now my wild useless guess
old Compaq laptop from year 2001 to 2013 (13year owned by HP)
the old one is XP , the DEAD OS.
so even you did the ethernet connections , microsoft is dead now for XP and plug an play will fail,
so then you go ah shucks, I go to HP and not fixya, (hint fixha is NOT HP, FIXya has no HP drivers or books here, zero)
so you to go HP.com and ask for help, (yah think?)
and they tell you the pages are gone,. and drivers older than 10 years old. but wow , some guy there has them saved and can share them, (luck happens but not always)

now no fan fair, no drum rolls, bingo HP

real ,not fake, not spam, not scalpers, the REAL DEAL HP.
amazing no? ask ! there first ,always..!!! costs zero bucks, to ask.

This depends what version of Windows you are running, if you are running an older version, say Windows Vista, there is a known bug with the ISATAP Adapter, essentially it is an IPv6 protocol, and is not needed. It should have no impact on the operation of your wireless card and is completely fine to use with the yield sign. It may have been there for some time before you noticed. The connectivity is most likely unrelated. If there is a yield sign next to you wireless adapter i would recommend re-installing the driver. You will need to search google for the driver and re-install. Sometimes manufacturers will have drivers on their websites and you simply enter you laptop model and year and select wireless card. Other times you will have to do a thorough search on google. Dont download any program that will search your computer for missing drivers, they are a scam. Try searching for your model number and Compaq. If you cant find exact model number of your laptop, a general Compaq driver may work.

Can you still connect through wired ethernet cable? What do you mean by wont connect? Do you mean connect but there is no internet? Or you can see the wireless network but not connect? or you cant see any wireless networks at all? I have also run into issues where the saved network configuration is corrupted, and trying to join a network and enter the password is futile, even though I have previously joined and it is a trusted network. In this instance, I deleted all network settings and all saved configurations associated with this network and joined again from scratch, which rejoined first time.

SOURCE: 802.11g Network Adapter Radio Control Switch

It's not a physical switch, and they really should put more thought into the error messages they write. To "flip" the "switch" you hold down your function key and hit F2 (you'll notice a little symbol on the F2 button - that's the "radio switch"). After that, just right click on your wireless connection and choose repair.

SOURCE: Linksys Phone Adapter with Router Model SPA2102-R Connecting to Internet

from the cable modem or dsl connection, connect to WAN on the linksys device From PC port to the computer. you will have to make sure if all the port or opened. Normally DATAONE will not block any ports but its always adviceable to check if all the potrs are opened. you will have to put your mac code on the modem. If that does not work you might have to clone your device (information transfer from modem to your device) and you should be good to go...............

SOURCE: My Acer Aspire 4310 wireless

There is another driver for this laptop that's a different type of wifi card.
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?recordid=4516&formid=3394&website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&words=all&keywords=&areaid=12
that's one but that's for WinXP
Here's a site where all the drivers for that particular model
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?website=AcerPanAm.com/au&siteid=8116&areaid=12&formid=3394#results
You can go down by each one until you find the correct driver or you can take off the wifi cover under the laptop and look at the wifi card and it will tell you which model it is so that you won't have to try each one till you find the correct driver.
