First, try to use different batteries. it can cause to long reaction times
Second, try to buy a faster memory card, it usually help for the time it takes to upload and see the pictures on the screen
about the blurry pictures
are you using M or a different mode?

I have a Coolpix 4600. When I take a picture, it takes so long that sometimes the subject (such as a dog!) has already moved. I have a SanDisk 512mb. Someone said I need a faster memory card. Any ideas?

Our camera after taking a picture takes an awful long time to set itself up to take another picture.
