Where do i insert sim in samsung SGH P300 - Samsung SGH-P300 Cellular Phone

Maybe your phone is locked to AT&T. I've searched the net to find the unlock codes for my fone and it worked. Search for code calculators for SGH x426. The instruction is also included in their websites. It's fairly easy. Also, make sure that your sim is from the network provider in your country.

1rs take the sim off and turn on the phone put this code: #*7337# , done the phone will be temporary unlocked.now insert a sim different from the phone provider (dont worry about to take the battery off), it will be unlocked but you have to tipe this: 
*7465625*638*00000000*00000000# 
then this one:
#7465625*638*00000000# 
and you have to check all locks are inactive taping this code: *#7465625#

Because the new sim is probably not programmed or not programmed to the carrier you are using and the phone is locked to a carrier. You can only use a sim for a different carrier on an unlocked phone. If you are replacing a Sim for the same carrier - it has to be programmed before you can use it. The sim contains all your carrier and account info - not the phone. The phone can be locked to only accept programmed sims from the carrier that sold you the phone.

If the display says "Insert SIM," it means that the phone has no contact with your subscription card (SIM card) that is inserted in the phone. We recommend that you remove the battery and the SIM card, and clean the connectors on the SIM card and the phone with a soft brush, cloth or Q-tip moistened with any type of unflavored colorless alcohol.
At the same time, check that the card is not damaged or worn in any way, in that case, the connector may not align with the connector in the phone. Please contact your operator / carrier for a new SIM card.
