I'm having a problem with a Ricoh MV310e copier/fax. When I turn on the machine, it says "WAIT" and then it sounds like the feeder is trying to feed a page through the ADF. Then I get on the LCD screen a message which displays a telephone number (i.e. 4143535000) and then I get a message which says: SERVICE CALL 0-05H. In the MV310e user's manual it says the error is reporting a poor quality line. I do not have the system connected to a phone line. I just want to test to see if it will copy. Is there any way to remove or clear this error message so that the MV310e may be used??

SOURCE: Ricoh FAX5000L - Check: Network Error! [10-40]

Usually this means it was previous;y hooked up to a network, or the network settings have changed and they are mismatched. Do you use it as a printer? If not, in the user settings, (I'm not exactly sure where, but you can download a manual at ricoh.com) just set all the network settings to 0's - for example Ip address, gateway, etc. Otherwise set them correctly in order to print.

SOURCE: Ricoh fax error #400

Possibly the fax line is open (busy). Try ringing the fax number, see what you get. Try unplugging the fax and plug a normal analogue handset into the line. See if you are getting a dial tone.
If not, then the cabling or line are faulty. Talk to your carrier. If yes then replace the cable on the fax (if possible) or have it looked at.

Fuser error.....Either blown fuse, bad thermistor, or blown lamp. Problem needs to be repaired, and then a WAY over complicated reset procedure has to be performed in service mode to clear the error.

SOURCE: when machine was moved from one line to another it

Your fax tech is correct. There is another device on your fax line such as a credit card machine, a postage meter, computer, etc.

You should have a dedicted analog phone line for your fax machine.
