There are a few likely causes with audio problems. Either you need to reinstall the audio drivers, you need to reinstall your OS, or your sound card just died.
1) Most likely, is that you just need to reinstall your audio driver, or update it. The link below contains the latest audio driver for the Dell Latitude D620. Download it, run the program, and install it, then restart your computer.

2) If the sound isn't working from the driver, then you will want to try to reinstall Windows. Note that doing this will delete all of your data currently on the laptop. To reinstall, find the Windows disk that came with it and run it, follow the instructions. After you reinstall Windows, reinstall the drivers from your drivers/utilities CD that came with your laptop also.
3) If sound still isn't working, then your sound card/chipset has just died. Since it's a laptop, there's really no fix for this, however you still should be able to hear using headphones.
