You can upgrade your memory card by replacing a 128MB with 256MB. Provided, that the memory card model is the same as the 128MB.
Or you can use both if its the same model and the motherboard of your Notebook has two slots for memory card. That will increase its performance.
Compaq Presario 1275 PC Notebook uses PC100 memory card. That should be your 256MB. If not, don't even try inserting it to memory slot of your Notebook.
Go to http://www.crucial.com enter your model, etc. and it will tell you what memory is compatible.
