I'm replacing a switch that is one of two that controls coach lights on the front of my home. One is by the front door and the other in the garage. It says on the package that it gangs with other switches. I have installed 3way dimmers before, but this looks different. Should I just install it as it says in the directions or do I have the wrong timer?-Woods 59018

Ok, they're mostly hooked up about the same.
First, turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
Then connect the incoming white wire, the outgoing white wire and the white wire from the timer together with a wire nut.
Next, connect the black incoming wire, to the black timer wire with a wire nut. Connect the black outgoing wire to the red timer wire with a wire nut.
Last, connect the ground wire from the timer with the outgoing and incoming ground wires with a wire nut, unless you have a metal box. In this case, the timer ground wire should be grounded to the box with a ground screw by either connecting it straight to the box or pigtailing it from the wire nut connecting all three ground wires together.

If you have a different arrangement of incoming wires (other than black, white, and green), please reply back.

I was just rereading your question, AFTER I posted the instructions for your timer.
I'm sorry. You should have a red wire at this box? If so, connect the black (LINE) wire from the timer to the black (HOT) incoming wire. Connect the red (LOAD) wire from the timer to the common wire from the existing installation, usually the white wire. Connect the white (NEUTRAL) wire from the timer to the red wire from the existing installation. Connect the ground wires together.

When you use a 4 wire timer, you must add a jumper wire to the other 3 way switch. This is just a wire connected from the upper terminal on the incoming side to the terminal on the other side.

I hope this is clear. Sorry for the confusion.
