Hi & thanks. There is a small 'M' on the top center right of the 'number' screen. How do I get this to go away? Remove the battery? Thanks again & regards, -louis

This M does no harm. It merely reminds you that you stored something in memory. You can try pressing the AC (Clear All) button. Alternatively, store 0 in all the memories. If I am not mistaken you have 3 memories. Try
0 STO 1 to clear Memory 1
0 STO 2 to clear Memory 2
0 STO 3 to clear Memory 3.

Testimonial: "Thanks kindly. Makes sense & works. I did this the dumb way yesterday and took out the betteries. Nice to know the 'M' does no harm. Appreciate!"
