Ringtone Problem! My n6500s has this one problem, it always reverts back to the nokia standard tone from the one i set, even the ringtone set for my contact group also reverts back to the nokia standard tone, why is that? is there a setting for me to change? P.S any other tips and tricks for this phone?

The reason for this as I learnt last week is a small switch which is operated by placing the back cover on the phone. Its a 'safety' feature apparently. If you have a picture or ringtone set from the memoery card relese the back. (you will notice it reverts everything back to factory settings. Now do the same but make sure the tone and pic that you use is stored to the phone memory not your card.....presto!! it stays on and dosent revert. People around the globe think its a software bug when actually its not. It prevents you losing data from your memory card. I am currently trying to find out if this feature can be disabled. Its stupid, I know!!!!!

This is a known manufacturing fault, i have just had mine repaired by nokia,

If you knock the phone or drop it, any ringtones, wallpapers etc in use will revert back to factory IF the said ringtones, wallpapers in use are stored on the memory card, transfer the tones and wallpapers you wish to use onto the phones internal memory and this should then stop the problem.

ur problem might be referd to a damaged or corrupted phons Firmware.
or just a miss set up

try to give ur phone a Format this is might be helpfull but u need to back up messges/contacs/photos/viedos.

to format press:

* plus # plus 3 plus green call key plus POWER

phone shud be off

- or u can try first the *#7370# then 12345 this is restore the CP to factory defaults
