Problem # 1: My newsletter of 12 pages has eliminated page 9 and added some 30 blank pages that can only be deleted one at a time. I don't know how they got added when I was just trying to get page 9 reinstated. It appears but has no date or page # at the bottom of the page, Problem #2: I tried to close the program without saving and thelast two pages of material just disappeared. There doesn't seem to be any way to get them back.

I haven't used Serif Pagemaker for some time but most of them work basically the same way. Whenever you have test on a page you're working on disappear, immediately hit Cnt + Z (control key and z key at the same time on your keyboard) which will cause it to "undo". Often you can get whatever just disappeared to reappear again. It will only 'undo' one step however so if you've done something afterwards that will undo.

Look under "Options" or "preferances" in Serif and see if there's an option on where temp files go. Some graphics software will save a temp file as you're working in case the power goes off or you otherwise loose the program. There is where you'll find a version of the file you were working on but may not have the last minutes of work you did... ie it may save every 10 mins etc.

If that isn't an option you can try looking at the time and then going to your windows temp folder and see what the latest timp file is... in more recent versions of windows it may also be under USER NAME - APPS - Program name ie Serif. It will probably show as a .tmp file and need to be renamed with the proper serif pagemaker extension before you can try opening it.

That's about all you can do. It's probably too late at this point to do either thing but keep this in mind if it happens again.

I see that your file may have been corrupted or maybe encountered a problem.
You mentioned that you have it saved right do not make anymore changes on it, try and recover the file by using the Recuva program, don't worry this is a safe program, let me give you the link where to download the program it will be small and can be downloaded fast.

Once on the website on the upper right you will see download latest version just click on that and it will ask you to save after saving run the program to be installed on your computer as soon as the installation finishes click on next then it will be asking you what type of files to recover, just select what type of file you will be recovering for it to search and show you a list of file to recover.
