Check engine light & Slip indicator light on together why?

Both the Check Engine light and the Slip Indicator light on my 2009 Tacoma came on for no apparent reason. The truck has only 34,000 miles on it. After reading blogs on the internet by people having the same problem with their Tacoma, I tried the easiest potential fix first: just tighten the gas cap until it "clicks" and disconnect the positive cable from the battery for about 20 minutes. Bingo, that fixed the problem! Those simple actions saved me a trip to the Toyota dealer and who knows how much in charges by their service department.

Replace headlight bulb

1. Pull the wire and socket off the back of headlight bulb. 2. Remove the rubber boot behind the headlight 3. You will see a wire clip that secures the bulb in place 4. With one finger, you can push the wire down and pull it slightly away from the bulb. You should now be able to pull the bulb out. 5. The new bulb will have to be spun until it's situated in the same way as the old one came out. (Do NOT touch the glass part of the bulb when you install it or it will almost immediately burn out) 6. Put the rubber boot and wiring back on.

How do I repair the compass /thermometer upper console?

Tools Needed: Philips, torx bits, soldering iron, solderbr>Steps to Fix:1. Open sunglass holder2. Remove screw holding console to ceiling3. Grip and pull down on the front (windshield-end) of the console. It will take a bit of pressure for the clips to release.4. Unplug electrical harnesses5. Ensure the you still have 2 metal clips attached. If not, the missing one will be laying in/next to the clip-hole6. Remove the 3 Torx screws holding the display/board7. Unclip the plasic cover from the board. Be careful. They break easily8. Locate the '510' resistors and look for disconnection. Mine was very easy to see.9. Press down resistor and solder broken end. I chose to solder both ends of both 510s to make sure I won't be back in there.10. Reassemble. It may be worth testing before you snap the clips back into place.Overall its a VERY easy fix that can be done by just about anyone.20 minutes & $.10 of solder is better than the $900 that Toyota wants.

How can I turn off drl on 2009 Toyota Tacoma

All you need is two parts: a NON- DRLDenso 12.8v flasher, Toyota part # 81980-02030, and an M1 signal junction block, Toyota part # 82671-30360. Follow the disassembly instructions from 007Tacoma's original thread, http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tec...stall-oem.html , remove the fuse block, and you will just do things in reverse. Disconnect the Y-harness that comes from the large black DRL relay, and connect your NON-DRL flasher and Junction Block to the 2 ports that the Y-harness was attached to- you will find that they only fit one way. On my 2012, there was a third small connector routed to the large black DRL relay, I think it comes from the E-brake switch. I reconnected that when I reassembled everything, and I also just left the black DRL relay where it was in case I ever want to switch back.

How do I add or locate spare fuse for added componites

there are none but if you mean options fuse, not opted ,sure. the FSM covers all this, why not just read it. buy one, "factory"service manual. alldata.com posted 1000 times. pages, electric, i look at my fuse box page, schematics. and see all fuses. all loads and notice one fuse showing say, electric mirror heaters, (wild guess) and i dont have that so i steal (use) that. this is the only way. with real documents. unless you think tracing every wire in car, 1 by 1 ,end to end. hah, only 13yo kid does that, (seen it, and was me at 13)

Car won't start on first turn it clicks then second attempt works

Likely cause is the solenoid. The contact plunger becomes pitted and carboned up over time. You need to remove the starter to refurbish the solenoid. Second scenario is a battery thats marginal or terminals that are not seated well with the battery clamps.
