My 2003 Renault Megane Scenic 1.9dci expression won't start
The funny sound you mentioned must be identified, could it be the starter trying badly to turn. Here the fault of your battery drain is that the glow plugs take a lot of current and it must NOT come ON when the starter motor runs. Hence the fault could be your GLOW plug relay unit with the auto cut off timer that is faulty. If you keep draining the battery to a lower threshold level , there is every possiblity that the battery life will be lowered . I hope the present battery rating is the recommended Amp/hr rating to give the extra run for the morning start. Next area of suspicion is the starter motor itself , it could have a bad commutator or a bush. It will be good to have a clean up and service. Finally check for excessive drain on your battery with a current check in series for the drain current when the switch if off. If the current exceeds the limit disconnect each circuit to confirm. hope this advice helps. good day
1.5 diesel megane injection fault
The cheapest way to go is to change the fuel filters first and the air filter. Then I would change the crankshaft sensor.
You may have to bit the bullet , and have the fuel pump changed before the fuel injection pump. The fuel pump in the tank can be loosing pressure to the fuel injectoin pump.
I think the lesser cost is the fuel tank pump vs. the fuel injection pump.
The system runs of fuel and air. No spark like on a gas engine.
So the problem can only be lack of fuel or lack of air getting into the vehicle air induction. A restriction in fuel or air will make the engine run poorly.
That sometimes there was a whine and some times
If the issue was with the turbo you should be able to notice the problem while at parked or idle and revving up the engine up to 3000 rpms where the turbo should have kicked in. If it were the pulley for the alternator for example, an increase of load by adding devices such as lights or headlamps, radio, etc would cause the alternator to sound at idle or increase in revs while at idle or at park. If the noise appears only when moving then it may be related to the transmission or bearings.
