Reset time on pocketwatch
Hi Tarynlarson,
Ok this can be done by GENTLY pulling out the crown till you hear or feel 2 clicks. Sometimes the crown has to unwound first, as you have not mentioned a specific model I am trying to be through.
Then you canjust rotate the crown and the hands should move and you can get it to the desired time.
When you have finished simply rescrew the crown back down.
Hope this helps?
Pocketwatch runs fast
Such a fast gaining usually is caused by dirty or magnetized hairspring, resulting in uneven coil amplitude (some of the coil rows are sticking together or touching each other). This causes the watch to run unbelievably fast.
To get the watch properly fixed you need to give to the watchmaker.
Alternetively; you can fix it yourself, but it will not last long.
For this you will need:
Case opener,
Dust blower (resin ball with nozzle),
Lighter fluid (ZIPPO),
Dropper (like one in eyedrops package).
Do as follows:
Open watch caseback,
Check for the fastest moving part in watch movement and you will see the hairspring fitted on it (pulsing outwards and inwards very fast).
Fill the VERY CLEAN dropper with lighter fluid.
Put ONE drop of lighter fluid on hairspring (DO NOT TOUCH IT),
Wait for a 10 seconds,
Dry out the lighter fluid with dust blower by vigorously squeezing it and pointing the nozzle on to hairspring from approx. 2-3 inches away.
Lay the watch on the table (dial down) and cover it with a clean, dustless cup. Leave for 15 minutes.
Fit the caseback on and enjoy your watch again.
Do not forget to rate, please.
My watch stop and it
Your watch needs to be clean,so that the old oil will be taken out,and change it with a new fresh oil.Old oil can caused the machine to stop, because old oil become sticky causing machine small gear stuck up and gear shafting can't move .
Hope it may help you;
Regards;

NIGHT FALL
Choosing the right watch depends on your lifestyle, budget, and decide the purpose-daily wear, formal occasions, sports, or smart features. Choose a comfortable size, a reliable movement (quartz for accuracy, automatic for tradition, smartwatch for tech), and durable materials like stainless steel with good water resistance. A good watch should match your routine, feel comfortable on your wrist, and suit your overall look .High end watch shop.

How to set Harve Benard watch 20-093
General Steps for Analog Watches
- Pull the crown (the knob on the side) out gently to the first or second "click" position.
- First click: often to set date/day (if your watch has that).
- Second click: sets the time.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back in fully to restart the movement.
- If your watch has a date/day complication, after you push the crown in half-way (first click) you may turn to adjust the date/day, but avoid doing this around midnight (say between 9pm and 3am) since it may damage the mechanism.
According to generic quartz watch instructions:
"To set your watch's time... pull the crown fully out... gently turn the crown..." Manuals+
- If your watch is water-resistant with a screw-down crown, you may have to unscrew the crown first (turn counter-clockwise) before pulling it out. Then screw back in after setting.
?? Specific Tip from a User Guide for Your Model
I found a user question on FixYa for "How to set Harve Benard Watch 20-093". The advice given:
"Press and hold the button on the top right side of the watch: Press and hold the button until the time display appears. Set the time: Use the ..." Fixya
This suggests your model might have digital/chronograph features (i.e., a "button on the top right" rather than only a crown). If so:
- Press and hold the top-right button until the display starts flashing (time-set mode).
- Then use other buttons (often the side bottom or top left) to cycle hours/minutes.
- Press again to confirm and exit.
? What to Check & Do
- Verify whether your watch has only a standard crown, or also buttons (top right / side) - this determines analog vs digital mode.
- If it's a digital display or hybrid (hands + digital), look for a mode button or "Set"-function via one of the buttons.
- Ensure the battery is fresh so the watch responds correctly when you try to set it.
- After setting the time, check for accuracy by matching it to a reliable clock
