1 or more of the developers is leaking. because the machine adds toner based on a ratio of developer to toner when the developer level is not right machine tries to compensate by adding toner it will always say add toner until the developer unit is changed

How do i fix problem Add Toner

The Ricoh has toner and developer. When the developer is depleted it can not get to the right density when toner is added so the machine keeps saying to add toner. You need to clean out the developer unit and put in new developer. Depending upon your model you may need to install a drum and blade too. Ricoh technicians are trained to dissemble the unit and just replace the parts needed instead of getting a whole drum/developer unit. YOU DONT ADD DEVELOPER, YOU CHANGE IT LIKE CHANGING THE OIL IN YOUR CAR. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE BY A TECHNICIAN BECAUSE ONCE YOU CHANGE THE DEVELOPER YOU NEED TO RESET THE COUNTER FOR IT AND DO A DENSITY ADJUSTMENT WHICH REQUIRES A SERVICE MANUAL. GOOD LUCK !

Vac and clean the developing unit then replace the developer

but if the case is developer spilling we need to replace the 4 bushings and seal then replace the developer

The first thing i can tell you is that is weird!!!!
Because if you change the developer that error should disappear. It could appear later but not in the moment because the developer already have toner and the TD sensor will read it.
And that's the question: When you said "replace developer" you mean just the developer or the DEVELOPER UNIT??? Is your TD sensor working good????

Adding developer to the new ricoh aficio mp 1500

Are you a tech? I suspect not. You need to remove the drum unit, disassemble, separate the drum from the development unit. Remove cover of developer unit, add developer, reassemble, and run SP2214 to calibrate.
This is NOT a procedure to be performed by an end user...no disrespect intended.

Sharp AR-208D copier needs developer - how to add?

Set-up for this copier sure isn't well-documented. We just got ours working today, found out how to add the toner by following the instructions here: https://www.businessneedz.com/Manuals/ar168s_setup.pdf (yes, it lists a different model number, but the instructions worked, and were linked from the ar-208d product page from the supplier)

ADD TONER BLACK

If the toner is an original you should not have a problem unless the Developer unit is faulty. The developer unit mixes the toner with the dev. If the dev unit TD (Toner Density) sensor is not working then it will not add toner. Try the following.

Remove black drum unit
Remove Black Developer unit
Tap the develop unit and shake side to side 5-6 times
Reinstall both units close covers and open toner cover
wait 15 seconds then close the cover

Hopefully then you will add toner if not the likely thing is that the developer unit will need replacing.
