Make sure both transportation locks are unlocked.

Hi,
I think the printer driver is not communicating properly or it's not installed correctly. Follow these steps to correct:-

Turn OFF the printer, then Un-install printer software/Driver (Epson Scan).
Restart your computer, then open WINDOWS EXPLORER (Right-Click START tab , select EXPLORER or WINDOWS EXPLORER)
Navigate C:\windows, then locate twain_32 folder & then rename it to different name like twain_32_old.
Restart your computer, After that Re-install printer software (Epson scan).

If the drive icon is displaying on My Computers then nothing to worry.. if not check all cables or reinstall the drivers. if still it persists go for repair...

I would check to make sure the two shipping locks are unlocked. You can find them according to the photo I have attached. This should help out.

Does the soft ware in the V700 support early colour negative material ? I can find Ilford HP5 but not Ilfocolour !

There isn't a specific template for that film, but you can try out with generic settings and see how it goes. I rarely use the specific film settings from scanner software, and always prefer to adjust them to each roll I scan. Good luck with that! :)

I have an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner and an Imac version 10.5.8. Are these compatable?

Yes the scanner is compatible with a downloaded driver from epson. however some of the supplied third party software may not be. Also with MACS the push button scan may not work.

Found online epson manual, found that lock tab on the back of the scanner had been bumped across to "lock" position.

Epson V700 - in the home mode rotate button has vanished

Try to do a reset all. Click on configuration, then click on others and click on the reset all button.
You may need to trash and re-install the twain driver. Please log on to epson.com to get the proper driver for your scanner compatible with your operating system.
