How is the maintenance process? - Sharp AR-5320 Black and White Copier

The error is a Process Drive Fault. This may be a problem with the Process Drive's Gears.
You probably need to go through the replacement procedure again.
Xerox says to check if they are in their home positions. NOTE: Usually, manually tilting the head back and forth using Drum Maintenance Shaft should leave the Process Drive aligned.

Has ink spilled ink around the Printhead that prevents the Printhead from moving to its center position? You should be able to push the Printhead right to left. Clean the Printhead area.

Is the Printhead stuck to the Wiper Blade? Start the printer in diagnostics mode and run idiags test Exercise Heater - toggle Printhead heaters to soften the ink. Manual separate the wiper and Printhead. Set them in their home positions.

Does the X-Axis Motor drive the Printhead to its center position (so it can tilt forward)?

Check the Process Drive for obstructions or damaged.
Ensure the gears are correctly aligned and homed.
Verify the process shaft and drive module shaft are at their home positions.

Has ink spilled on the Head Tilt Gear on its drive train (near left side of the Printhead)?

Use Service Diagnostics to run the Head Maintenance Wiper Clutch test. If the test fails replace the Head Maintenance Clutch.

Align the Wiper Assembly. Use Service Diagnostics to run the Wiper Drive Test. If the test fails replace the Exit Module.

Use Service Diagnostics to run the Load Maintenance Clutch test.
If the test fails inspect the maintenance drive system, replace any defective parts.

Verify the Head Tilt Gear engages. You can manually set the Head Tilt Gear.

If the test fails replace the Process Drive.

Use Service Diagnostics to run the Process Motor test.

Start by identifying the processes which are using the cpu and stop them or disable the processes which are causing the usage.

ADDING TONER is displayed and installation of toner starts.
5. After approximately 15 minutes, the installation is completed and the machine becomes ready
.U157 Checking/clearing the developing drive time
Description
Displays the developing drive time for checking or changing a figure.
Purpose
To enter the developing drive time again after carrying out initialization with U020 and to clear the developing
drive time when replacing process unit.
Method
1. Press the enter key. The developing drive time is displayed in minutes.
2. Change the setting using the left/right cursor keys or numeric keys.
Setting range: 0 to 99999
To clear the developing drive time, set the value to 0.
3. Press the enter key. The value is set.
Completion
Press the back key. The indication for selecting a maintenance item No. appears.

This error means the printhead is tilted back but not properly restrained by the print-head restraints.

There are several possibilities.
First. The right or left print-head restraints often crack not holding the print-head in the restrained position. Remove the side covers and you can see them inside the frame about center at the top, they are glossy black unlike the frame.

Second. The maintenance camshaft (behind the maintenance pivot plate) may have cracked cams not allowing the the maintenance pivot plate (this holds the maintenance kit) to move to home position. This causes the process gearbox to be out of the correct home position.

Third. The process motor may not be aligned correctly or even may be bad - broken or worn teeth. This is on the right side in the front lower corner.

There are other possibilities but more rare.

07,009.42 indicates that the printhead was unable to tilt normally on its axis.

You probably have a cracked drum maintenance camshaft. If the drum maintenance pivot plate is white plastic it should be replaced as well with the new style, which is black plastic. This repair requires removing the process drive gears assembly and reinstalling it requires the gears to be timed. This repair should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with these machines.



You probably have a cracked drum maintenance camshaft. The dm camshaft is driven by the process drive motor on the right side of the printer. It raises and lowers the maintenance kit against the drum to oil and clean the drum. The camshaft has 2 lobes on it. These lobes crack over time and cause several different error conditions. The camshaft part # 401100380 is only about $17 from xerox but can be tricky to replace if you're not mechanically inclined. The other thing to look at is the pivot plate assembly. Slide out the drum maintenance kit. If you look inside the cavity the plate that the maintenance kit sits on is called the pivot plate. If it's white it will also need to be replaced with a black one.

Verify process motor operation with the Process Motor diagnostic test. Also exercise processes run with the process motor; transfix, drum maintenance and head tilt. This can be caused by the power control board. The process motor may have more than one task initiated. Reset all solenoids and the pressure roller prior to cycling power.
