Philips salon pro ceramic AC hair dryer electric cable is damaged
I had to disassemble the PHILIPS SalonPro Ceramic HP4890 to fix the damaged power cord. With no previous experices in this models of hairdryers, it was hard to find the way to take out (slide) the main plastic cover. I had to force the front plastic ring to come up and free the main cover; the main covers slides and then the side covers can be separated (triangular recess screws) to access to the interior of hairdryer. I forced the front ring with the tip of a screwdriver so the piece was damage, but not broken, later I came up with the idea of using a nylon thread (or fishing line) to surround the ring and pull to avoid the damage. No doubt that these hairdryers are not made to be disassembled but not impossible. Hope I help.

we had a similar problem happen with our Hampton Bay Renaissance fan. It turns out that the warranty does not cover this by the way. The lifetime warranty you refer to is only on the fan motor. This is common with most fan manufacturers- just wanted to let you know about this because I think your interpretation of the warranty is wrong.This fan is really hard to find and so are the parts for it. I would recommend trying to call Home Depot where you bought it or call the Hampton Bay customer support phone number. You're likely going to have to go through one of those mediums. I feel that the second thing (calling technical support for Hampton Bay) will probably connect you to Home Depot too because Hampton Bay is a house brand of Home Depot.
