Replace icemaker 2198597 on kenmore 106.55612400
The problem could also be the Emitter or receiver unit. This unit detects the level of ice in the ice bucket and when it gets full the ice blocks the optical path shutting down the making of ice till optical contact is made. See the attached jpeg for troubleshooting steps.

Unplug refrigerator. Take a moment to examine how the icemaker is positioned in the freezer compartment prior to proceeding (e.g.: water inlet tubing coming into the icemaker, etc.). Remove or loosen (where applicalble) screws holding icemaker. Unplug icemaker's wire harness connection. install new icemaker by reversing the screws harness, etc. Make certain that the new icemaker is in the "on" position. Plug the refrigerator in. Allow approximately 6 to 8 hours (some models take fewer or longer timeframe) for ice production.
